The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bartholemeaux takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bartholemeaux swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Templar lunges at Bartholemeaux with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bartholemeaux's hand.

It looks like Kingston Bartholemeaux has been cut.
Bartholemeaux tries to clinch up.
Templar has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Wesley Templar has been cut.

Bartholemeaux shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bartholemeaux is stalling in the full guard.
Bartholemeaux has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Templar is trying to control the position but Bartholemeaux postures up.
Templar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Templar wants to take a breather but Bartholemeaux is having none of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Templar connects with a nice short shot to Bartholemeaux's temple.
Bartholemeaux is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Templar works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bartholemeaux's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Templar is landing with some decent strikes but Bartholemeaux is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Kingston Bartholemeaux's cut is getting worse.
Bartholemeaux knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Templar on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee warns Bartholemeaux that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
