The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis slips a jab and a cross from Black.

Black throws a nice looking combination but Reis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Black dives in and grabs Reis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reis pushes down on Black's head and hops out.

Reis looks to land a combination but Black avoids it well.

Reis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Black tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reis is in Black's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Black is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reis is aware though and is defending well.
Reis throws an elbow that misses. Black uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reis's guard. Nice move by Black!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Black defends well.
Reis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Black looking to improve position, pressing down on Reis's thigh with his hand. Reis seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Black paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Black's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Reis picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
