The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Mercer.
Mercer digs a good body shot into Coktov's ribs.
Coktov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mercer but Mercer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Coktov delivers a nice body kick.
Nice sprawl there from Mercer as Coktov shoots in.
Coktov ducks under a wild hook from Mercer.

Coktov throws a nice head kick!

Coktov tries to close the distance and clinch but Mercer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Coktov blocks a jab.
Coktov throws a sloppy head kick and Mercer moves out of range easily.

Coktov fails to land with a series of punches.
Mercer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mercer throws a right hand that Coktov ducks under and follows up with a left that Coktov also avoids with ease.
Mercer keeps the fight on the outside.
Mercer throws a wild body kick that Coktov sees coming a mile off.

Mercer punishes Coktov's body with a nice straight punch.
Coktov looks winded!
Mercer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Coktov misses the shot to the body.
Mercer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coktov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mercer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mercer throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Coktov counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mercer is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Mercer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Coktov moves forwards but Mercer connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The fighters circling - Mercer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Coktov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mercer throws a body kick that misses

It looks like Miroslav Coktov has been cut.
Mercer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Stu Mercer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miroslav Coktov.
Mercer comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Coktov is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Mercer just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Coktov has gone limp and this one is over!

In his post fight interview, Stu Mercer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
