Chandler is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Script - Hall of Fame ft. will.i.am. Dalton Pressnell has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 24 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dalton Pressnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Chandler!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pressnell tries for a takedown but Chandler circles away easily
and Chandler counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Chandler pushes Pressnell up against the cage in a clinch.
Pressnell is pressed up against the cage. Chandler has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pressnell down to the mat. Pressnell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Chandler gets the takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Chandler is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
It looks like Chandler might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
You can see the frustration on Pressnell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Pressnell tries to buck Chandler off but Chandler is having none of it.

Chandler lands a decent elbow from side control.
Pressnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chandler on the ground.

Chandler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pressnell has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chandler lands a nice forearm strike.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pressnell is not content to let Chandler control the position.

Pressnell is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chandler connects with a decent elbow.
Chandler connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Pressnell some visible discomfort.
Chandler lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pressnell down.

Pressnell is rocked!
Chandler takes a little break here. Pressnell wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Check out the look on Chandler's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pressnell is not content to let Chandler control the position.

Pressnell takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The referee asks Chandler politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Chandler prefers to stall for the moment though.
Let's hope that Chandler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Chandler is looking to take a break and control but Pressnell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chandler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Pressnell is looking for a sweep.
Chandler is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Pressnell wants to get back to his feet but Chandler drags him back down.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pressnell is trying to get back to half guard.
Pressnell is trying to escape the position but Chandler is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Chandler dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Chandler closes the distance and pushes Pressnell back into the cage.
Chandler is looking to take this one to the mat.
Pressnell misses with an elbow strike.
Pressnell misses with a knee to the head.
Chandler goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pressnell prevents it.
Pressnell fails to pull guard.

Chandler turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Chandler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chandler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pressnell is looking to reverse the position.
Chandler is chipping away with strikes.
Pressnell is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Chandler is controlling him well.
Pressnell takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Chandler tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chandler remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Chandler cracks Pressnell with a big right hand but Pressnell just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Oh Pressnell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chandler looks up at the clock and then as Pressnell takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chandler smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Chandler in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Pressnell looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Chandler turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
