The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barnes is trying is best to control the position here.

Khalidovv seems to be working for a kimura but Barnes defends the submission attempt.
Barnes gets back to full guard.
Barnes thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Barnes looking to control but Khalidovv passes into half guard.

Khalidovv looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Barnes is defending against the submission attempts here by Khalidovv.

Barnes is looking for a sweep. Khalidovv is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Khalidovv has gone for a leg lock! Barnes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Khalidovv's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Khalidovv is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Barnes pulls his head out easily.

Khalidovv shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Barnes darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Barnes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Khalidovv's calf.
Barnes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Crunch! Barnes slams his shin into Khalidovv's torso.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
