PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Ryan Hitchhiker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Snapple (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Snapple told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Hitchhiker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eric Snapple!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snapple connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Snapple throws a series of punches but Hitchhiker avoids them all with ease.
Snapple looks to score with a jab to the body but Hitchhiker is just out of range.
Snapple misses the jab.
Hitchhiker looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Snapple uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hitchhiker has time to react.
Hitchhiker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hitchhiker cracks the inside of Snapple's front leg.
A big right from Snapple misses.
Hitchhiker throws a head kick that misses.
Snapple throws a shot from downtown. Hitchhiker moves away and avoids it.
Snapple tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hitchhiker was well out of range. Poor timing from Snapple.
Snapple loads up on a big right hand but Hitchhiker slips the punch.
Snapple blocks a head kick by Hitchhiker.
Snapple lands with a cross.
Snapple takes a kick to the side of the head.
Snapple swings for the body but Hitchhiker moves out of range.
Snapple throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hitchhiker sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Eric Snapple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Snapple cracks Hitchhiker with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Hitchhiker is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Hitchhiker is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hitchhiker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Snapple misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hitchhiker counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Snapple scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Hitchhiker to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Snapple away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Hitchhiker got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!

Hitchhiker is rocked!
Snapple dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hitchhiker connects with a high kick.
Snapple misses with a straight right.
Snapple throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hitchhiker feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Snapple's calf.

and Hitchhiker counters with a body kick.

Snapple catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Hitchhiker stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Hitchhiker walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!
Oh Hitchhiker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hitchhiker is breathing heavily.
Hitchhiker walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Snapple! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
