PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Fary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bob Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fabio Fary!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fary shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bob defends it nicely.
Fary tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bob sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fary somewhat.
Fary keeps the fight on the outside.
Fary with a lazy takedown attempt
and Bob counters with a left to the body.
Bob Bob has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabio Fary.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bob.

Bob decides to stand back up. Bob steps back and let's Fary get back to his feet.
Bob throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bob tries a head kick but it misses.

Fary rushes Bob and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bob is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Fary pulls Bob into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bob's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bob stands and throws Fary's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Bob working away.

Bob working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bob tries to advance to mount but Fary denies him.
Bob tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bob is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Fary's shoulder. That is not cool.
Fary on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Fary is looking for a sweep.
Fary is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bob remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bob trying to control the position but Fary is working away.
Bob scoring with punches and elbows.
Fary is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fary looking for a sweep but Bob has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Fary is looking to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bob fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fary is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fary really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bob. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bob trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bob looking to control and managing it successfully.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fary can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Bob dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Fary shoots in but Bob avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fary swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fary connects with a body shot that sends Bob's belly button to the back.
Fary circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Fary counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bob is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fary wants to pass the guard but Bob is keeping the position.
Bob Bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fary trying to control the position from guard on top but Bob is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bob controls Fary momentarily but Fary frees himself.
Fary tries to free his leg and advance position but Bob is retaining full guard.
Bob is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Bob Bob has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Bob decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bob is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fary is just riding it out for now. Bob eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob wants to stand up but Fary is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fary tries to kick Bob off in order to stand up. Bob Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Fary is trying to get back to half guard.
Fary is breathing heavily.

Bob wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fary, who protects the arm well.
Fary can't do much from the bottom here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fary throws Bob to one side and escapes!

Bob shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bob passes Fary's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bob passes the guard and advances to mount!
Bob tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bob working for a guillotine from mount but Fary is in no mood to give up.
Bob manages to capitalize on a mistake by Fary to take his back!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fary trying to control but not successfully.
Fary tries to roll but Bob sticks to his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bob is looking to control Fary but Fary is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Fary trying to control the position but Bob manages to sink in the hooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Bob dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Bob bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fary tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Fary tries to improve his position but instead Bob has taken his back!

Bob is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fary knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fary for a finish.

Bob looking to break Fary's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Fary remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bob will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bob is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Bob is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Fary won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Bob off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bob Bob!
