Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Sabaton- Metal machine. Martin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dean Martin - LITTLE OLD WINE DRINKER ME . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Martin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Martin moves away from the strike by Smith.
Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Martin shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.
Martin moves to clinch but Smith breaks away
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Martin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Smith connects with a nice looking jab.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith throws out a loose jab but Martin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith fails to land the takedown.

Smith shoots in and bounces Martin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
Martin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith throws an elbow that misses. Martin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Smith's guard. Nice move by Martin!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith wants to sweep here but Martin controlling him for the moment.

Smith has his foot on Martin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martin works his way back into a safe position though.

Martin is fighting to break Smith's control of his arms but Smith is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Smith wants to hit a switch here but Martin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Smith there!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Martin manages to avoid it.
Martin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith.
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Martin which made him look bad.

Dean Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Martin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.

and Smith counters with a three punch combo that has Martin backing up. Martin nods at Smith to acknowledge the strikes.

Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
