PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mario Maci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dannioloz Barett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Maci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dannioloz Barett!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barett scores with a jab.
Barett waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Maci.
Maci really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Barett checks a low kick from Maci.

Maci decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Maci keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Maci working over Barett with some ground and pound. Barett looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Maci escapes and gets back to his feet.
A combination from Barett does no damage.
Barett digs a good body shot into Maci's ribs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barett swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Maci shoots in and gets a takedown into Barett's guard.
Maci seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Maci decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Barett ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Maci.
Maci buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Maci on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Maci feints and as Barett raises his hands in defense, Maci changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maci throws a big elbow that misses.
Maci is stalling in the full guard.

Maci stands up and waves to Barett to follow him.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barett darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Barett blocks a head kick by Maci.
Barett closes the distance looking to clinch

and Maci counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Barett!
Maci has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maci is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Barett will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maci decides to stand back up. Maci steps back and let's Barett get back to his feet.
Barett blocks a head kick by Maci.
Barett punishes Maci's body with a nice straight punch.
Barett lands with a shot to the body.
Maci is breathing heavily.
Sloppy strikes from Barett. Those never looked like landing.
Maci takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Maci is rocked!
Dannioloz Barett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barett feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Maci crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
