PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Florijan Jagatic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Porn Kasakorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Porn Kasakorn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jagatic gets tackled into the cage by Kasakorn. Kasakorn maintains the clinch.
Jagatic pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Kasakorn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jagatic missing with a left hand there. Kasakorn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jagatic lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kasakorn circles away quickly and effectively.
Jagatic misses with a body shot.

Kasakorn shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kasakorn is working for a submission of some sort.
Kasakorn content to control rather than advance.

Kasakorn decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Jagatic shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kasakorn defends it nicely.
Jagatic is breathing heavily.

Kasakorn takes the fight into the clinch.
Jagatic lands with a short shot to the head.

Kasakorn jumps guard and drags Jagatic to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Kasakorn pushes Jagatic off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jagatic gets tackled into the cage by Kasakorn. Kasakorn maintains the clinch.

Kasakorn turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kasakorn manages to end up in side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee asks Kasakorn politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kasakorn prefers to stall for the moment though.

Kasakorn decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kasakorn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kasakorn is controlling the pace.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kasakorn decides to stand up.

Kasakorn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kasakorn lands in his opponent's guard.

Kasakorn is standing up over Jagatic. Jagatic looks to escape but Kasakorn dives into side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kasakorn drives through and clinches with Jagatic against the cage.
Jagatic is trying to maintain a safe position but Kasakorn gets an underhook and turns Jagatic into the cage.

Kasakorn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kasakorn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jagatic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kasakorn sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Kasakorn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, if Kasakorn is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Porn Kasakorn has got the better of the ground game so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Porn Kasakorn was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Kasakorn has closed the distance and engaged Jagatic in a clinch.
Jagatic tries to land knees in the clinch but Kasakorn avoids the damage to the body.
Jagatic with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Jagatic is trying to pull guard but Kasakorn has him pressed against the cage.

Kasakorn manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kasakorn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jagatic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jagatic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jagatic with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jagatic throws a big elbow that misses.

Kasakorn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jagatic doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jagatic manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kasakorn is pulling down on Jagatic's head to control his posture.
Jagatic with a flurry of punches that miss.

Kasakorn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jagatic defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jagatic loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Jagatic wants to stand but Kasakorn has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kasakorn pulls Jagatic in close to prevent any damage.

Kasakorn pushes Jagatic off and scrambles back to his feet.

Jagatic gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kasakorn is standing up over Jagatic. Jagatic looks to escape but Kasakorn dives into side control.

Kasakorn advances nicely into full mount.
Jagatic tries to lock up and control but Kasakorn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kasakorn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Porn Kasakorn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Kasakorn closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jagatic's guard.
Kasakorn is pushing down on Jagatic's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jagatic is fighting to maintain full guard but Kasakorn has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kasakorn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jagatic's head.
Kasakorn thows a huge punch but Jagatic dodges it nicely.
Kasakorn is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Jagatic pushes Kasakorn off looking to stand but Kasakorn dives back in and keeps control.

Jagatic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kasakorn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Florijan Jagatic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jagatic throws a chopping leg kick but Kasakorn manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Jagatic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kasakorn swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Well Kasakorn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
