Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rob Hell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alistair Pearson!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Hell tenderised Pearson's leg. Pearson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hell misses with a low kick.
Hell avoids the head kick by Pearson.
Hell misses with a body kick.
Hell throws a head kick that Pearson semi-blocks.

Pearson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pearson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pearson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pearson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pearson is stalling in the full guard.

Pearson rushes Hell and presses him up against the cage.
Hell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Pearson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hell's efforts to push away.

Pearson gets control of Hell's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pearson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Pearson looking for a guillotine here but Hell defends easily.

Hell drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pearson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pearson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pearson!

Pearson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hell throws a head kick that misses.
Hell is breathing heavily.
Pearson misses with the combination.

Pearson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pearson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hell throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hell blocks a head kick by Pearson.

Pearson moves into range and clinches up with Hell.
Hell wants to break the clinch but can't.

Pearson breaks the clinch.

Pearson clinches up with Hell and pushes him back against the cage.

Pearson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pearson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hell.
Hell gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Pearson counters with a body kick that stops Hell in his tracks momentarily.
Rob Hell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pearson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hell.

Hell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pearson.
Hell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pearson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hell throws a lazy head kick

and Pearson counters with a single leg into guard. Hell didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pearson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pearson stands up and waves to Hell to follow him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alistair Pearson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pearson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Rob Hell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hell misses with a leg kick
and Pearson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Pearson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hell trying to stall but Pearson improves his position.
Hell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pearson has him pressed against the cage.
Hell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pearson.

Pearson jumps guard and drags Hell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hell is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pearson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pearson has escaped and now he's on top!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pearson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Pearson darts in and clinches Hell up against the cage.

Pearson lands a takedown into guard.

Pearson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rob Hell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pearson clinches up against the cage.

Pearson breaks the clinch.
Pearson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hell throws a head kick but Pearson moves out of range.

Pearson moves into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pearson has managed to clinch.
Hell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Pearson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hell can't fight it off and eventually Pearson manages to take the fight to the floor. Hell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pearson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hell is working an open guard so Pearson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Pearson rushes Hell and presses him up against the cage.
Hell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hell is trying to push Pearson away but Pearson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Hell is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pearson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hell to the mat. Hell regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Pearson gets to his feet. Hell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hell misses with a low kick.

Pearson has managed to clinch.

Pearson tightens his grip and picks Hell up, before dumping him to the ground. Hell manages to land in guard.
Hell wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Pearson manages to pass to side control.
Hell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pearson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pearson connects with a nice short shot to Hell's temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pearson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hell's head.
Hell wants to get back to his feet.
Alistair Pearson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Pearson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Pearson moves into range and clinches up with Hell.

Pearson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hell can't fight it off and eventually Pearson manages to take the fight to the floor. Hell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Alistair Pearson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Some bone on bone action there as Pearson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Pearson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hell can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Pearson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hell looks a forlorn figure.

Pearson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hell is looking to improve his position but Pearson isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pearson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Pearson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pearson drops a big elbow. That's hurt Hell! More shots from Pearson and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
