Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Funk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markus Serdal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Funk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Markus Serdal!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serdal scores with a jab.
Funk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Serdal.
Serdal misses with a hook. Funk ducked under it nicely.

Serdal drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Funk is trying to get back to half guard.

Serdal looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Serdal is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Funk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Funk trying his best to control but Serdal has mounted him.

Serdal jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Funk is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Funk and Serdal has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Serdal wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Funk, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Serdal tries to pass the half guard into mount. Funk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Serdal is looking for a kimura but Funk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Serdal to get the leverage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Serdal moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Funk has worked his arm free - good work by Funk!

A close round but Markus Serdal will probably get the nod.

Funk fails with the takedown.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Funk creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Funk presses Serdal against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Funk lands a right hand that snaps the head of Serdal backwards.
Funk scores a nice knee to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Funk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Funk gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Funk breaks from the clinch.

Funk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Funk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Funk wants to clinch.
Serdal stuffs the takedown.
Funk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Funk looks for a takedown but Serdal sprawls well.
Funk shoots in for a takedown but Serdal shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Funk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Serdal is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Funk is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Funk has escaped and now he's on top!

Funk is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Serdal is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Funk!
A very excited looking Frank Funk rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
