Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Matt Ghandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Boddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Ghandi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Boddy!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ghandi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ghandi wants to control from the top but Boddy keeps moving.

Ghandi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Boddy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Boddy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Boddy!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ghandi manages to work his way to half guard, despite Boddy's best efforts.

Ghandi is desperately trying to improve his position but Boddy has a good base and remains in mount.

Ghandi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ghandi is trying desperately to improve position.
Boddy content just to control the position here.
Ghandi tries to reverse the position but Boddy maintains control.
Boddy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boddy content just to control the position here.

Ghandi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ghandi misses with an uppercut. Boddy saw that one coming.
Ghandi throws a head kick but Boddy moves out of range.

Ghandi is looking to clinch but Boddy is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ghandi misses with a straight right.
No joy there for Ghandi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boddy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Boddy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Ghandi rushes Boddy and presses him up against the cage.
Ghandi fails to pull guard.

Ghandi jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ghandi is trying to keep Boddy in close.
Ghandi looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Boddy puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Boddy passes to full mount!
Boddy trying to control but Ghandi is having none of it.
Ghandi tries to hold on but Boddy postures up.

Ghandi tries to improve his position but instead Boddy has taken his back!
Ghandi breaks Boddy's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Boddy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boddy pulls Ghandi in close to prevent any damage.

Ghandi wants to pass the guard but Boddy is keeping the position.
Boddy wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ghandi won't allow Boddy to sweep him here.

Boddy trying to keep a closed guard but Ghandi is proving a slippery customer.

Ghandi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boddy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Boddy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Ghandi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Boddy fails with the takedown

and Ghandi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Ghandi gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Boddy regains guard.
Ghandi slips nicely into half guard.
Boddy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ghandi.

Ghandi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Boddy is pressing down on Ghandi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Boddy has Ghandi pulled in close to control his posture.

Ghandi has gone for a leg lock! Boddy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ghandi's guard.
Boddy is pushing down on Ghandi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ghandi is fighting to maintain full guard but Boddy has managed to sneak the leg through.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boddy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ghandi is looking to escape.
Matt Ghandi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to John Boddy.
I've got Boddy winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
