PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between The Convict (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashley Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Convict might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kill You. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Convict ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Davies swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Convict makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Convict blocks a head kick by Davies.
Davies misses the shot to the body.
Davies plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Convict dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davies. That did some damage!
Convict with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Convict throws a body punch but Davies moves out of range.
Davies throws a poor cross that misses
and Convict makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Davies really felt that one!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Davies takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Ashley Davies has been cut.
Convict throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Davies has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Convict.

Davies throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Convict stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That kick from Convict tenderised Davies's leg. Davies is trying to keep his angry face on.

Convict lands a leg kick that knocks Davies off balance momentarily.
Nice straight punches there by Convict. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Convict.

Convict closes the distance and clinches.
Davies dodges an elbow strike from Convict.
Davies tries to work over Convict's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

That has opened up Ashley Davies's cut even more.
A bit of stalling here from Convict.

Davies has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Convict is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The Convict has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashley Davies.

Davies drops down looking for an ankle pick but Convict pulls his leg out and moves away.

Davies's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

The cut above Ashley Davies's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Davies looks to land a left hand but Convict moved out of range nicely.

Convict throws a leg kick which misses Davies's front leg but catches the back leg as Davies tries to avoid it.

Convict takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Ashley Davies's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Davies gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Convict lands with a kick to the ribs.

Convict lands a nice looking kick to the body. Davies takes a step back to recover.
Convict will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Convict scores with a jab to the head.
Convict fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Davies misses with an uppercut. Convict saw that one coming.
Convict throws a head kick but Davies moves out of range.
Davies misses the jab.
Davies is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Convict.

Convict fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Davies has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Davies ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Convict lands a big head kick that sends Davies tumbling to the mat! Convict takes a step backwards and waves Davies back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ashley Davies's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

In his post fight interview, The Convict started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
