Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Thomson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pattis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Thomson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Pattis!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pattis stuffs the takedown attempt from Thomson. Thomson gets slowly back to his feet.
Thomson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pattis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pattis drives through with a takedown into Thomson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pattis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Thomson is fighting to break Pattis's control of his arms but Pattis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thomson wants to get up but he can't break Pattis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Josh Thomson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Thomson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pattis as he jumps to the side.

Pattis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Thomson up against the cage.
Thomson is pressed up against the cage. Pattis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thomson down to the mat. Thomson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Thomson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pattis shoots in for a takedown but Thomson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pattis enables Thomson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pattis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A close second round but Anthony Pattis will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Thomson doesn't manage to clinch there - Pattis circles away.
Pattis shoots in looking for a takedown but Thomson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pattis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Thomson shoots in looking for a takedown. Pattis tries to sprawl out of it but Thomson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pattis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Anthony Pattis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pattis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
