Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tod Brookes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tyler Creed has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Creed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tod Brookes!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brookes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Creed paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Brookes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Creed swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Creed throws a head kick that Brookes semi-blocks.
Brookes blocks a jab.
Creed circles away from the clinch attempt
and Creed counters with a good low kick that Brookes was not able to check.
Creed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Brookes tries to clinch up but Creed circles away and keeps his distance.

and Creed counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Creed throws a front kick that sends Brookes stumbling back into the cage.
Creed looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Brookes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Creed manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Brookes tries to pull guard but Creed forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Brookes goes for a takedown in the clinch but Creed prevents it.

Creed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Creed shoots for a double leg takedown but Brookes sprawls well. He's pushed Creed's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Brookes drops down looking for an ankle pick but Creed pulls his leg out and moves away.

Creed avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Creed counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Brookes is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Creed tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brookes smiles and moves away.

Brookes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Creed has him pressed against the cage.
Brookes swings wildly with an uppercut but Creed uses good head movement to avoid it.

Brookes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Creed uses from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Creed throws a big elbow that misses.
Creed throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brookes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Brookes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brookes uses his free foot to push down on Creed's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Creed.
Creed is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tod Brookes will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Creed counters with a nice body kick.

Creed really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Creed throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Brookes fails with an attempt to clinch.

Creed fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brookes, pushing him back against the cage.
Brookes gets through Creed's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Creed manages to pull guard.
Creed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Creed escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brookes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Creed looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brookes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Brookes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brookes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brookes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Creed avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brookes.

Brookes is working for a kimura but Creed is defending it quite comfortably.
Brookes is nestled in close to Creed, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Brookes stands up and beckons Creed to join him on the feet.

Brookes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Creed, pushing him back against the cage.
Creed wants to break free but Brookes has control.

Brookes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brookes slips under a jab from Creed.
Brookes moves in looking to clinch but Creed pushes him off.

Brookes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Creed shoots for a takedown but Brookes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Brookes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Creed throws a sloppy head kick and Brookes moves out of range easily.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Brookes in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Brookes darts in and clinches Creed up against the cage.
Creed keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brookes's efforts to push away.

Brookes has hold of one of Creed's legs. Creed is fighting the takedown attempt but Brookes gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Brookes postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Brookes has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Creed after a bit of a struggle.

Creed ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Creed no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brookes passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tod Brookes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Brookes is pressed up against the cage. Creed has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Brookes down to the mat. Brookes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Brookes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Creed gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Creed will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Creed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Creed wants to stand but Brookes is controlling his posture from full guard.

Creed got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brookes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Creed has managed to get both his arms back between Brookes's legs - danger averted.
Brookes controls Creed momentarily but Creed frees himself.
Tod Brookes has got the better of the ground game so far.

Brookes has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Creed off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Creed throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brookes's waist but Brookes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Creed off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Creed. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brookes wants to clinch.
Brookes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Creed paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brookes walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Creed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tyler Creed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tod Brookes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Brookes lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Creed backs up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tod Brookes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Brookes winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
