Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyrone Bate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Raptor!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raptor throws a jab but it's blocked by Bate.

Raptor closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bate did well to prevent Raptor getting side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bate tries to get to full guard but Raptor has control of the leg.

Raptor seems to be working for a kimura but Bate defends the submission attempt.
Bate controlling the position well.
Bate is looking to control Raptor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bate avoid being mounted?
Bate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bate wants to sweep but Raptor has passed to side control!
Bate is trying to control Raptor's posture but Raptor avoids it.

You can see the frustration on Bate's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Raptor wants to control but Bate is keeping him busy.
Raptor postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bate can't do much from the bottom here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Raptor cracks Bate with a big elbow.
Raptor is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bate parries the strikes from Raptor easily there. Raptor is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bate to escape.

Bate is trying to escape the position but Raptor is controlling the position.
Bate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bate is trying to get back to half guard.
Bate can't do much from the bottom here.

Bate tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Raptor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bate is rocked!

Raptor tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Oh Bate is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bate being controlled for a moment.
Raptor connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bate some visible discomfort.
Raptor scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bate is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Raptor can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
