Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bret Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Junior Marijuano!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Marijuano dives in and scores a takedown into Jones's guard.

Jones is trying to control the position but Marijuano postures up.
Marijuano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Marijuano won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.
Jones has control of Marijuano's left arm, preventing Marijuano from doing any damage.
Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marijuano defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jones.

Jones wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Jones throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jones prevents Marijuano from getting the reversal.

Jones has control of Marijuano's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Marijuano regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Marijuano gets back to half guard.
Marijuano tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jones wants to free his trapped foot but Marijuano is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Jones takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jones seems to be working for a kimura but Marijuano defends the submission attempt.
Marijuano is trying to get back to full guard.
Marijuano is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marijuano is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones advances to full mount.
Marijuano is wriggling around trying to escape.
Marijuano is breathing heavily.
Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Marijuano tries to lock up and control but Jones gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Jones pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Jones is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Marijuano can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marijuano manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Bret Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
