Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Winke Tygesen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Menendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Winke Tygesen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sammy Menendez!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tygesen throws a lazy body kick
and Menendez counters with a leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Menendez.

Tygesen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Tygesen wants to pass the guard but Menendez is defending well.
It looks like Tygesen is going to stand back up.

Tygesen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Menendez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tygesen.
Tygesen has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Menendez works to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Menendez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tygesen, who protects the arm well.

Menendez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tygesen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tygesen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Menendez off and has taken his back!

Tygesen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Menendez has worked his arm free - good work by Menendez!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tygesen wants to stand but Menendez has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Tygesen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Menendez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tygesen, into his guard.

Menendez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tygesen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Tygesen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Menendez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Tygesen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Menendez has picked Tygesen up and slammed him! Tygesen can't keep hold of the triangle and Menendez manages to pass to side control!

Menendez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tygesen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Menendez goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tygesen has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Menendez but great work by Tygesen.

Tygesen is trying to shake Menendez off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Menendez won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Tygesen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tygesen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Tygesen swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Menendez is now in Tygesen's guard. A big mistake from Tygesen there, giving up the dominant position!

Tygesen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Menendez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Menendez wants it to stay on the feet.

Tygesen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Menendez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tygesen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Menendez is proving hard to escape from.

Menendez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tygesen stacks Menendez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tygesen!

Tygesen is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Tygesen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Tygesen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
