Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Braun Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Abott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that David Abott was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Abott.
Abott lands a nice looking body shot.
Silva with a lazy takedown attempt
and Abott counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Braun Silva has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silva is breathing heavily.

Abott gets a double leg takedown into Silva's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Abott lands a couple of elbows.
Abott postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Abott is stalling in the full guard.
Abott chips away with some ground and pound.

Silva could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Abott cracks Silva with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abott slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Abott advances to half guard.
Abott winds up and cracks Silva with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Silva on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Abott is nestled in close to Silva, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Silva is rocked!
Silva is in trouble now - Abott has advanced to mount!
Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Abott postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Silva is out cold - huge knockout for Abott!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). David Abott!
David Abott is the new heavyweight champion!
David Abott decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
