Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Zodiac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zodiac tries to clinch up but Sato circles away and keeps his distance.
Sato looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Zodiac fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sato sprawls well initially but Zodiac persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Zodiac tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Sato.
Zodiac throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sato wants to get back to full guard.
Zodiac wants to take a breather but Sato is having none of it.
Zodiac wants to pass the guard but Sato is defending well.

Zodiac stands up and beckons Sato to join him on the feet.

Sato shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zodiac as he avoids it easily.

Zodiac shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Zodiac showed some decent athleticism there.

Zodiac decides to stand and escape the position.

Zodiac darts in and clinches Sato up against the cage.
Zodiac digs a right hand into Sato's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sato's gas tank.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zodiac manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Zodiac tries to control but Sato wriggling away.
Zodiac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sato on the ground.

Zodiac stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Zodiac escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Zodiac drives through and clinches with Sato against the cage.

Sato on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Sato gets caught flat footed, as Zodiac shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sato has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Zodiac is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sato.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sato is trying to work for a sweep but Zodiac has mounted him!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sato is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zodiac connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sato tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Zodiac takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Sato tries to keep at a distance but Zodiac has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sato is still on wobbly legs! Can Zodiac finish him?

Zodiac manages to break the clinch.
Sato is breathing heavily.
Zodiac ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Sato fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sato seems to have recovered his senses.
Whack! Zodiac lands a heavy head kick that drops Sato. The ref tackles Zodiac to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Sato was done.
