The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Nastul decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Griffin's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Pavel Nastul overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nastul has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nastul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nastul drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Griffin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nastul has Griffin in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nastul quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Griffin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Nastul celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
