Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Hussey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Eel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Hussey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Hussey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Eel!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hussey lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Eel stuffs the takedown.
Eel takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hussey digs a good body shot into Eel's ribs.
Eel ducks under a wild hook from Hussey.
Eel throws a shot from downtown. Hussey moves away and avoids it.
Hussey tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Eel was well out of range. Poor timing from Hussey.
Eel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Eel shoots in but Hussey avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Eel closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hussey's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hussey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Eel tries to hold on but Hussey postures up.
Eel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hussey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hussey throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hussey lands a nice shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hussey pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Eel is trying desperately to improve position.
Hussey wants to control the pace but Eel is squirming around nicely.
Hussey looking to ground and pound but Eel is blocking nicely.

Hussey jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Eel manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Eel is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hussey is controlling him well.
Hussey working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Eel tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ground and pound from Hussey seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hussey in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Eel tries to bench press Hussey off him but Hussey keeps the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eel can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hussey prevents Eel from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eel throws a few strikes from the bottom but Hussey takes advantage and mounts!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hussey avoids the attempt from Eel to control.
Hussey lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Eel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Eel can't escape the position.
Hussey raining down shots from the mount!
Hussey throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hussey trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hussey thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Hussey throwing strikes here but Eel is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Hussey is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Eel has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Eel!

Hussey looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Eel is defending well. Hussey quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Eel has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hussey celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Michael Hussey!
A very excited looking Michael Hussey made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
