PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Dumile (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dumile comes into the arena with Doomsday blaring out of the sound system. Hogin has chosen real american as his entrance music. Daniel Dumile had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Dumile!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 64 - 29 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogin!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dumile shoots for a double leg takedown but Hogin sprawls well. He's pushed Dumile's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A head kick by Hogin misses
and Dumile counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dumile with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hogin to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Daniel Dumile has been cut.
Dumile closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hogin circles away.
Dumile lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hogin circles away quickly and effectively.
Hogin swings for the body but Dumile moves out of range.
Hogin leaves Dumile with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Dumile. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hogin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dumile as he avoids it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hogin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dumile manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hogin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dumile defends it easily.
Hogin wants to stand and escape but Dumile is having none of it.

Hogin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dumile defends well.
Hogin looking for a sweep. Not yet Hogin, not yet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hogin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dumile can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dumile makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hogin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Dumile is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hogin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hogin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dumile has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dumile!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dumile not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hogin throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hogin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dumile is one step ahead there.
Dumile wants to control from the top but Hogin keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hogin throws a hook to the side of Dumile's head but Dumile sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hogin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hogin lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dumile at a distance.
Hogin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dumile defends it nicely.

Dumile fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hogin to the ground. Dumile is now in Hogin's guard.

Dumile stands and throws Hogin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hogin is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dumile connects with a decent elbow.
Daniel Dumile overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hogin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Hogin is not content to let Dumile control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dumile working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Hogin tries to bench press Dumile off him but Dumile keeps the position.
Dumile will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hogin manages to get back to half guard.
Hogin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hogin is looking to control Dumile's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hogin avoid being mounted?
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Dumile looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hogin is trying to get back to full guard.
Dumile takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hogin is trying to control but can't.
Dumile has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dumile tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hogin swivels and escapes.
Dumile dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hogin. That did some damage!
Dumile just misses with a punch to the body.

Dumile looks to throw the jab but Hogin is out of range.

Hogin misses with a takedown attempt - Dumile sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

You can see the frustration on Dumile's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hogin is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Hogin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dumile's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dumile's back!

Dumile is looking for a sweep. Hogin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hogin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dumile swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hogin is desperately trying to improve his position but Dumile has a good base and remains in mount.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel Dumile.
Well Dumile has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
