Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helio Gracie!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Mousassi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Mousassi which made him look bad.
Gracie slips a jab from Mousassi.

Gracie feints and as Mousassi raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mousassi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
Mousassi pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mousassi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mousassi wants to sweep but no luck.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Mousassi is retaining full guard.

Gracie trying to move into half guard but instead Mousassi has managed to sweep!

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mousassi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mousassi is stalling in the full guard.
Mousassi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mousassi stopping the sweep attempt from Gracie.
Mousassi trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mousassi is one step ahead there.
Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Mousassi is proving a slippery customer.

Mousassi is sitting in close to Gracie's body. Gracie has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mousassi is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mousassi is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gracie.
