Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasquez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Careless Whisper. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nauricio Rua!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vasquez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Vasquez slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Vasquez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rua tries to avoid it but Vasquez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rua to the ground. Rua escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rua looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nauricio Rua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Horrible takedown by Vasquez or perhaps it was just good defense by Rua which made him look bad.

With the fighters up against the cage, Rua throws an elbow but misses.

Rua wants to stand and escape but instead Vasquez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rua manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Nauricio Rua comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Rua has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
