The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hammer is defended easily by Desna.
Hammer looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Desna wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hammer keeps working.

Desna is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hammer has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hammer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Desna must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hammer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hammer tries to pull guard but Desna holds him up against the cage and eventually Hammer drops back down to his feet.

Desna drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hammer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hammer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hammer!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hammer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Desna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Desna scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Hammer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Desna finds it's way round the side to connect with Hammer's head.

Ljeva Desna is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Ljeva Desna.
Well Desna has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
