Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Lamas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Aldo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lamas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Aldo looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Lamas is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lamas is working for a submission of some sort.
Lamas is nestled in close to Aldo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lamas lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Lamas is trying to control the action in half guard but Aldo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lamas is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lamas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aldo's head.
Aldo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Lamas postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Lamas wants to control from the top but Aldo keeps moving.

Lamas drops back looking for a leg! Aldo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aldo manages to kick Lamas off! Lamas jumps back into Aldo's guard.

Aldo controls Lamas momentarily but Lamas frees himself.
Lamas works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lamas content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Lamas is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Aldo looks calm but he's in trouble here. Lamas gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Aldo is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Lamas lets go of the hold and Aldo can pop his arm back in it's socket.
