Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rekkles Larsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deb The Machine!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Machine tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Larsson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Larsson clinches with his opponent.
Larsson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Larsson displaying some good clinch control by pressing The Machine up against the cage.
The Machine is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Larsson to keep the fight standing.
The Machine is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Larsson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Larsson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Larsson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Machine.
The Machine gets the takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The Machine tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no The Machine has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round.
The Machine tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Larsson wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Machine has an Americana. Larsson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! The Machine is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if The Machine hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Deb The Machine!
A very excited looking Deb The Machine rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
