Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Majd Laila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, KP Little!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laila fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Little, pushing him back against the cage.
Laila escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Laila ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Little moves away.
Laila lands a head kick!
It looks like KP Little has been cut.
Little closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Little lands in his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Little is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Laila keeping moving, preventing Little from controlling successfully.
Laila has his foot on Little's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Little works his way back into a safe position though.

OK we're going to have a standup here. KP Little hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Laila throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Little looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Laila is fending him off so far but Little persists. Nope, Laila circles away and we're back to standing.
Little lands a jab to Laila's midsection.
Laila misses with a jab, cross combination.
Little fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Laila manages to avoid it.
Laila avoids the body shot from Little.
Little fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Laila throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Laila shoots in and bounces Little off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laila wants to control from the top but Little keeps moving.

Laila stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Little swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Laila lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Little circles away quickly and effectively.

Little has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Laila is proving hard to escape from.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Little lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Laila circles away quickly and effectively.

Little has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Laila off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Laila misses with a wild body shot.
Little shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Laila defends it nicely.
Laila drives through and clinches with Little against the cage.
Little is trying to pull guard but Laila turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Laila's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Laila connects with a leg kick. Little looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
