The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heady gets caught flat footed, as Vasya shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasya is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Heady keeping full guard, as Vasya tries to pass.
Vasya drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vasya jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Vasya drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Heady manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vasya has Heady in his guard.

Vasya has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heady can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Vasya working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Heady doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Heady manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Heady must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Vasya had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Heady is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Vasya Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Heady's back instead.
Vasya is persistently looking for the submission but Heady is defending it well.

Vasya is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Heady defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
