Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kyle Babcock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mihail Murumov!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Babcock shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Babcock looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Babcock takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Babcock is pressing down on Murumov's thigh, looking to free his foot. Murumov is holding on for now.
Murumov taking some punishment here, with Babcock in his half guard.
Murumov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Babcock controlling the action here.
Babcock thows a huge punch but Murumov dodges it nicely.
Murumov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Babcock.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Babcock content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Babcock working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Murumov tries to get to full guard but Babcock has control of the leg.
Babcock controlling the action here.
Murumov wants to improve his position but Babcock is controlling well.
Babcock landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Babcock tries to pass the half guard into mount. Murumov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Babcock is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Murumov sees it coming and defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Babcock scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Murumov is looking to improve his position.

Babcock slows the pace down in half guard.
Murumov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Babcock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Babcock is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Murumov still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Murumov has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Babcock is trying to improve his position.

Babcock is trying to work for a sweep but Murumov has mounted him!
Babcock sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Murumov wants to get back to his feet.
Babcock slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Babcock is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Murumov defends well.

Babcock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Murumov defends it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Babcock trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Babcock utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Babcock is trying to control the position but Murumov postures up.
Babcock is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Well, if Babcock is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Babcock looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murumov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Babcock seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Murumov tries to clinch but Babcock is having none of it.

Babcock pushes Murumov up against the cage in a clinch.
Babcock pushes Murumov back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Babcock cracks Murumov with a nice body shot.

Babcock manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Murumov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Murumov is looking to stand up but Babcock won't let him.

Babcock has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Murumov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Murumov wants to stand but Babcock has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Babcock pulls Murumov in close to his closed guard and prevents Murumov from doing any damage or advancing position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Babcock is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Murumov rolls with it to try and escape but Babcock cranks on the arm and Murumov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kyle Babcock!
An out of breath Kyle Babcock thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
