Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokolov shoots in and bounces Mir off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mir looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Sokolov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mir's head.
Sokolov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mir works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sokolov is working Mir over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mir utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sokolov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sokolov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sokolov throws a big right hand that misses.
Mir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sokolov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sokolov with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sokolov landing some decent shots from guard.
Mir working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sokolov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sokolov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mir has an active guard here but Sokolov has managed to pass into half guard.

Sokolov is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Sokolov tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mir knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Sokolov lands with a punch from half guard.
Sokolov moves into full mount! Mir won't be happy about that!

A big strike lands for Sokolov! That's really hurt Mir and he's turned his back - Sokolov keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Sokolov jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
