The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Totalschaden gets a double leg takedown into Vita's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Vita has his feet on Totalschaden's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Totalschaden shoots for a double leg takedown but Vita sprawls well. He's pushed Totalschaden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Vita wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Totalschaden jumps guard.
Vita postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vita is looking to work some ground and pound but Totalschaden has wrist control.

Vita content to stall in guard here.
Totalschaden is trying to keep Vita in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vita wants to control from the top but Totalschaden keeps moving.
Vita has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Joe Vita has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Vita clinches up with Totalschaden and pushes him back against the cage.
Totalschaden goes for a takedown attempt but Vita pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Vita drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Check out the look on Vita's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

It looks like Tim Totalschaden has been cut.
Vita cracks Totalschaden with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vita in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Totalschaden looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Vita turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
