The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matah gets a takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Matah works his way into full mount!
Ladz working to try and regain half guard.
Matah goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ladz is on top in guard.
Ladz lands a couple of digs.
Matah is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ladz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ladz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Matah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ladz's guard.
