Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Asly Hamps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Smith!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamps changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Hamps manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hamps bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ground and pound from Hamps seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hamps passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Smith!
Hamps working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Smith is bucking up trying to escape but Hamps cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hamps trying to control but Smith is having none of it.
Hamps is landing with some decent strikes but Smith is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Hamps connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hamps is working for a guillotine from mount but Smith frees his head quite easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hamps misses with a head shot.
Smith avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hamps.
Hamps has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Smith's face.
BOOM! Hamps connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hamps lands a big elbow.
The cut above Mike Smith's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Hamps lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Smith is rocked!
Mike Smith's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mike Smith's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Asly Hamps!
During a confident post fight interview, Asly Hamps thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
