Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Curtis House!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
House throws a right and a left that Gronvall avoids nicely.
House shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gronvall as he jumps to the side.

House moves into the clinch successfully.
House can't break the clinch.
Gronvall wants to take the fight to the mat but House manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Gronvall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but House gets the underhooks and prevents it.

House manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gronvall wants to get up but he can't break House's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
House not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

House has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gronvall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
House looking to control.
Gronvall would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Gronvall won't allow House to sweep him here.
House bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gronvall's guard.

House decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gronvall, up you get!

Gronvall gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
House stops Gronvall from standing up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
House trying to control but Gronvall is working from the bottom.
House prevents Gronvall from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gronvall is breathing heavily.
House slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Curtis House hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
House fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

House goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
House is looking to score with low kicks.

House shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gronvall is trying to stand.
House keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
House wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gronvall keeps working.
House takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Curtis House was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A head kick misses from House.
Curtis House seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

House closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gronvall to the mat! Gronvall manages to get full guard.

House stands up from guard. Let's bang!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
House shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gronvall as he avoids it easily.
Stefan Gronvall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Curtis House.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A head kick misses from House.
Gronvall checks a leg kick nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis House dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


House throws a sloppy head kick and Gronvall moves out of range easily.
House tries to clinch up.
Good work by Gronvall as he checks the leg kick.

House shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. House showed some decent athleticism there.
Gronvall is trying to stand back up but House is controlling him
House is breathing heavily.
House wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gronvall keeps working.

House seems to be looking for submissions.
House trying to control from half guard but Gronvall is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gronvall is trying to stand.
House thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gronvall is trying to stand.
House is pressing down on Gronvall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gronvall is holding on for now.
Curtis House has got the better of the ground game so far.
House content to control rather than advance.
House's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Curtis House has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
House misses with a wild combination.

House shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gronvall manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
House stops Gronvall from standing up.
House stands and throws Gronvall's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
House working the head with strikes.
Gronvall wants to get back to his feet but House drags him back down.
House controls the position.
House scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gronvall to see if he's OK.
House controlling the position from side mount.
House postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

House looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gronvall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for House on the ground.
Gronvall pushes House away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, House gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
House misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gronvall is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, House asserts his dominance and retains side control.

House is working to tighten is grip on Gronvall's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gronvall has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but House is really squeezing tight and eventually Gronvall passes out! House breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Curtis House!
Curtis House was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
