The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Defiler sprawls well. Defiler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hardy gets slowly back to his feet.
Hardy fails to land the takedown.

Defiler rushes Hardy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hardy stalling in the clinch but Defiler improves position.
Hardy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Defiler.

Defiler manages to break the clinch.
Defiler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Joey Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Defiler keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Defiler misses with an uppercut. Hardy saw that one coming.
Defiler throws a sloppy head kick and Hardy moves out of range easily.
No joy there for Defiler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hardy takes a kick to the side of the head.

That kick from Hardy tenderised Defiler's leg. Defiler is trying to keep his angry face on.

Hardy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Defiler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Defiler is trying to get back to half guard.
Hardy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Defiler keeps working.
Defiler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hardy on the ground.
Defiler tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Hardy is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Defiler won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Hardy off his unconscious opponent!
