Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jefferies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rockin Rolla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Jefferies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rockin Rolla!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferies lands a lovely overhand right.

Rolla scores with a takedown into Jefferies's guard.
Jefferies is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jefferies trying to mount his opponent but Rolla defends it.
Jefferies prevents Rolla from improving his position.

Jefferies is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rolla trying to control but Jefferies postures up.

Rolla kicks Jefferies off and gets back to his feet.
Jefferies takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rolla lands a really nice looking cross but Jefferies seems unphased.

Rolla closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jefferies gets back to half guard.

Jefferies manages to get to full guard.
Rolla would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rolla controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Rolla pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jefferies is keeping the position for now.
Jefferies looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Rolla puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jefferies looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Jefferies is breathing heavily.
Jefferies moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rolla slips nicely into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rolla wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jefferies keeps working.
Rolla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jefferies. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rolla decides to return to a standing position.
Jefferies throws a low kick, looking for Rolla's leg but Rolla calmly moves out of range.
Jefferies scores with a crisp jab that stopped Rolla in his tracks.
Rolla is looking to clinch.

Rolla decides to stand back up. Rolla steps back and let's Jefferies get back to his feet.
Jefferies keeps the fight on the outside.
Jefferies lands a head shot.
Rolla looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rolla takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Brian Jefferies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rolla keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rolla tries to clinch there but Jefferies circles away.
Jefferies lands a body shot.
Jefferies scores with a nice strike.
Rolla throws a one two combo.
Rolla walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jefferies.
Jefferies lunges at Rolla with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rolla's hand.

and Rolla counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Jefferies successfully pulls guard.
Rolla stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jefferies swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jefferies has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rolla can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jefferies tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jefferies wants to improve his position but instead Rolla has moved into half guard.
Jefferies is looking to improve his position.
Rolla working over Jefferies with some ground and pound. Jefferies looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Rolla tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jefferies manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jefferies lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rolla!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rockin Rolla dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Rolla counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rolla.

Rolla stands and steps away. Jefferies gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jefferies throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rolla closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Rolla tries to stand and escape but Jefferies is controlling the position.

Rolla is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jefferies is not content to let Rolla control the position.

Rolla tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jefferies.

Jefferies makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Rolla tries to score with a low kick but Jefferies moves his leg out of the way.

and Rolla counters with a single leg into guard. Jefferies didn't expect that.

Jefferies is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jefferies wants to sweep here but Rolla controlling him for the moment.

Rolla gets to his feet. Jefferies looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A left and a right from Rolla both land. Nice combination.

Rolla fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jefferies fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Jefferies. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jefferies misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Rolla has managed to clinch.
Rolla changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jefferies fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jefferies lands with an overhand left.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jefferies drives through and clinches with Rolla against the cage.
Rolla jumps guard but Jefferies stands there with Rolla around his waist. Rolla gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rolla gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jefferies.

Rolla has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jefferies uses from the top position.

Rolla isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jefferies stacks Rolla on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jefferies!

Jefferies in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Rolla is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
