Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cody Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montgomery throws a combination that misses
and Payne holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Payne on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Payne has clasped his hands together around Montgomery's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Montgomery struggling a bit here.

Payne is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Montgomery parries the strikes from Payne easily there. Payne is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Montgomery to escape.
Montgomery holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Montgomery moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Payne got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montgomery has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Payne has managed to get both his arms back between Montgomery's legs - danger averted.

Payne pulls Montgomery in close to prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cody Montgomery.

Montgomery slaps away a takedown attempt from Payne, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Payne fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Montgomery throws a head kick but Payne moves out of range.
Montgomery has a takedown stuffed.
Montgomery tries to clinch but Payne is having none of it.
Payne stuns Montgomery with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Payne shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Montgomery but Montgomery pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cody Montgomery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Payne.
Payne manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Montgomery on his heels. He'll look to pass Montgomery's guard now, I'm sure.
Payne must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Montgomery looking for a triangle here. Payne is fighting it but it looks tight! Montgomery pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Payne is tapping out - this one is all over!
