Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Franco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Carlyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gomez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bad Motherfucker. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez misses with a double jab.
Carlyle scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Gomez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Carlyle, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carlyle on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Carlyle dodges the punch combination from Gomez.

Carlyle gets a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Carlyle is working for a kimura but Gomez is defending it quite comfortably.
Gomez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gomez won't allow Carlyle to pass to mount.

Carlyle is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gomez defends it well.
Gomez is staying active underneath Carlyle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Carlyle tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gomez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Carlyle prevents Gomez from improving his position.
Carlyle wants to take a breather but Gomez is having none of it.

Carlyle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Carlyle in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gomez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Carlyle!
