Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ace Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Imer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darko comes into the arena with The Black Keys - Breaks blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Ace Darko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Imer!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Imer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Imer misses with a shot to the body
and Darko counters with a stiff right hand.
Darko pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Imer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Darko wants to sweep here but Imer controlling him for the moment.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Imer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Darko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Imer, into his guard.

Imer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Darko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Darko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Imer walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Imer lands with a hook. Darko tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Darko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Darko winds up and cracks Imer with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Darko is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Imer tries to get to full guard but Darko has control of the leg.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Darko connects with a nice short shot to Imer's temple.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Imer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Darko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Imer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Darko.

It looks like Richard Imer has been cut.
Imer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Darko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Imer.

Some bone on bone action there as Darko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Imer ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Darko stalks Imer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Imer's face. Imer staggers backwards, shaken.

and Imer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Darko's guard now.
Imer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Darko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close second round but Richard Imer will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Darko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Imer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Darko has managed to get both his arms back between Imer's legs - danger averted.
