Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thomas Raith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrzej Broll!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broll misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Broll throws a leg kick but Raith sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Raith slips a jab and a cross from Broll.
Broll drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Broll is looking to work some ground and pound but Raith has wrist control.
Broll throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Raith works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Broll is looking to stand up but Raith won't let him.
Raith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Broll in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Broll wants to stand and escape but instead Raith has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Raith won't allow Broll to sweep him here.
Raith wants to control from the top but Broll keeps moving.
Broll pulls Raith in close to his closed guard and prevents Raith from doing any damage or advancing position.

Raith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Raith trying to control the position from guard on top but Broll is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Thomas Raith has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Raith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Raith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Broll but Broll pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Raith drives through and clinches with Broll against the cage.
Broll jumps guard but Raith stands there with Broll around his waist. Broll gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Broll's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Raith tries for a takedown but Broll manages to get underhooks.

Broll breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Raith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Broll's waist but Broll gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raith off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Raith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Raith is looking to clinch.
Raith checks a leg kick.
Raith avoids the head kick by Broll.
Raith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Broll sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Raith somewhat.
Broll cracks Raith with a good jab.
Broll stuffs the takedown.
Raith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Broll as he avoids it easily.
Broll throws a right and a left that Raith avoids nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Raith is breathing heavily.
Raith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Broll's waist but Broll gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raith off to one side.
Broll scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Raith avoids a punch combination nicely.
A big left from Broll misses.
Broll drops Raith with a left and a right! Oh, Raith is hurt - Broll dives into side control looking to finish!
Raith is rocked!
It looks like Thomas Raith has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Broll working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Oh Raith is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Broll tries for a kimura but Raith is defending well.
Raith stops Broll from passing to mount.
Raith seems to have got his legs back now.
Broll landing strikes.
The ground and pound from Broll seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Raith wants to control but Broll postures up.
Broll lands a decent elbow from side control.
Raith struggling a bit here.
Broll trying to control the position but Raith is working away.
Broll connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Raith some visible discomfort.
Broll throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Raith works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Broll is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Raith reverses the position - he's now on top in Broll's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Raith pushes Broll up against the cage in a clinch.
Broll changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Raith fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Broll throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Raith counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Raith moves out of range of the body kick from Broll.
Broll bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Broll trying to control the action but Raith is working from the bottom.
Raith tries to buck Broll off but Broll is having none of it.
Raith sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Raith holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Broll tries to pass to full mount but Raith defends it.
Raith is defending against the submission attempts here by Broll.
Raith blocking the ground and pound attempt from Broll.
Broll not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Raith moves into full guard.
Broll postures up.

Broll lands a couple of digs.
Broll stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Raith has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Broll manages to get his head free but now Raith has transitioned to an armbar! Broll grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Raith! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
