PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hernando Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Kazama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes into the arena with The Prodigy: Invaders Must Die blaring out of the sound system. Kazama has chosen 12 Stones - Adrenaline as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hernando Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jin Kazama!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Kazama swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kazama pushes Anderson away with a front kick.

and Kazama counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Anderson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

I looks like Kazama might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Kazama stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him.

and Kazama counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard.
Kazama throws and elbow that misses. Anderson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kazama's guard. Nice move by Anderson!
Kazama really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Kazama decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Anderson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kazama.

Kazama misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kazama shoots in for a double leg but Anderson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Horrible takedown by Kazama or perhaps it was just good defense by Anderson which made him look bad.

Kazama changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to avoid it but Kazama manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Anderson to the ground. Anderson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Anderson darts in and clinches Kazama up against the cage.
