Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Scholes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron McKenzie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leonard Scholes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Scholes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Scholes really is a fat lump.
Scholes lands a nice looking body kick.
Scholes lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Scholes attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Scholes throws a right hand that McKenzie ducks under and follows up with a left that McKenzie also avoids with ease.

Scholes gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Scholes is trying to trip McKenzie. He has hold of a leg but McKenzie is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Scholes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Scholes is pushing down on McKenzie's leg trying to pass to half guard. McKenzie is fighting to maintain full guard but Scholes has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKenzie pushes Scholes off looking to stand but Scholes dives back in and keeps control.

Scholes is looking for a kimura here.

McKenzie is defending against the submission attempts here by Scholes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Scholes is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Scholes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Scholes in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. McKenzie tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Scholes!
