And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Riley!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Tellis counters with a one-two to the body.

Tellis drops Riley with a beautiful combination! Riley stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Tellis is looking for the KO!


Riley is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Riley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tellis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Riley is still in real trouble! Can Tellis finish him?
Tellis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tellis tries to get out of the position.
Tellis is looking to sweep but instead, Riley has passed into half guard.
Riley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Riley seems to have recovered his senses.

Riley is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Tellis as he works his way to full guard.

Riley drops back looking for a leg! Tellis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tellis manages to kick Riley off! Riley jumps back into Tellis's guard.
Tellis pulls Riley in to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riley pushes down on Tellis's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Riley is looking for a kimura here.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Riley has eaten all the pies!
Tellis preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Riley seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tellis won't allow Riley to pass to mount.

Tellis is defending against the submission attempts here by Riley.

Riley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Riley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tellis defends it well.
Riley moves into full mount! Tellis won't be happy about that!

Tellis tries to hold on but Riley pushes him away.

Riley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tellis is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tellis and Riley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Riley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tellis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Riley is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tellis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Riley staying calm.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Riley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Tellis is trying to control Riley's posture but Riley avoids it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Riley has hold of Tellis's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tellis seems comfortable defending it but Riley has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tellis is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tellis is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Riley couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kevin Riley!
Kevin Riley is the new bantamweight champion!
A relieved looking Kevin Riley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
