The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beaver with a nice cross.
Beaver is looking to score with low kicks.
Beaver tries to clinch but Hill moves away

and Hill counters with a single leg into guard. Beaver didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hill won't allow Beaver to get back to his feet.
Hill postures up in Beaver's guard and throws a big left but Beaver blocks it.
Beaver wants to stand but Hill is controlling the position.

Hill stands up from Beaver's guard - Hill perhaps looking for a knockout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Beaver enables Hill to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Beaver manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Beaver is looking to stand up but Hill isn't so interested in that idea.
Hill scoring with some ground and pound.

Hill thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Beaver is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beaver has momentary wrist control but Hill slips an elbow through the middle.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beaver can do anything to dispel that myth.
Beaver working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hill.
Hill postures up in Beaver's guard and throws a big left but Beaver blocks it.
Beaver keeping full guard, as Hill tries to pass.
Beaver wants to get back to his feet but Hill is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Beaver pushes Hill off and scrambles back to his feet.

so Hill counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Beaver wants to stand up but Hill is controlling him.
Hill throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hill working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Beaver's head.
Beaver keeping moving, preventing Hill from controlling successfully.

Hill postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Beaver is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hill, into his guard.

Hill working for a triangle but Beaver defends it easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Beaver is looking to stand up but Hill won't let him.

Beaver is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Hill has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Beaver is looking to defend but Hill has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Beaver! Hill pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Beaver taps out and this one is all over!
