Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Sheehan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Sheehan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sheehan misses with a wild combination.
Sheehan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sheehan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Howard circles away.
Sheehan misses with a few strikes there.

Sheehan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Howard did well to prevent Sheehan getting side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sheehan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Howard is fighting to break Sheehan's control of his arms but Sheehan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Howard wants to get up but he can't break Sheehan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sheehan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Howard defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sheehan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Howard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Howard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sheehan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Howard has managed to get both his arms back between Sheehan's legs - danger averted.
