Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Homer Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Joel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Joel throws a head kick that misses.
Joel connects with a crisp jab.
Joel throws a looping overhand right but Simpson ducks down to avoid it.
Simpson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Joel connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Simpson scrambles back to his feet.

Joel misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Simpson walks into a jab.
Joel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Simpson's head backwards.
Homer Simpson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Joel throws a series of punches but Simpson avoids them all with ease.

A decent looking cross lands there for Joel.
Simpson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Joel.
Joel throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Nice takedown defense from Simpson. No joy for Joel on that attempt.
Homer Simpson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yuri Joel.

Joel lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Joel.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Simpson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Joel can pounce on him.

Yuri Joel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Joel is breathing heavily.

Joel wants to slow Simpson down by chopping away at his legs.

and Simpson counters with a nice right hand that sends Joel toppling to the canvas! Joel scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Simpson finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Joel shoots in for a double leg but Simpson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A slapping body kick lands there for Joel.
Joel is trying desperately to land a takedown but Simpson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Joel.
That kick from Joel tenderised Simpson's leg. Simpson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Joel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
