Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luan Nguyen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Grettis Ghost!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghost tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A slapping body kick lands there for Ghost.
Ghost lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nguyen shoots in for a takedown but Ghost shows good takedown defense.
Grettis Ghost seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nguyen drives through and clinches with Ghost against the cage.
Ghost scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Ghost misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ghost manages to break the clinch.
Ghost lands a big head kick that sends Nguyen tumbling to the mat! Ghost takes a step backwards and waves Nguyen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Nguyen is rocked!
It looks like Luan Nguyen has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nguyen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ghost pinned against the cage. Ghost gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oh Nguyen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ghost throws a head kick that misses.
Nguyen avoids the head kick by Ghost.
Nguyen seems to have got his legs back now.
Ghost scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nguyen shoots for a takedown but Ghost saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luan Nguyen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nguyen is breathing heavily.
Nguyen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ghost lands a big head kick that sends Nguyen tumbling to the mat! Ghost takes a step backwards and waves Nguyen back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A thudding body kick lands there by Ghost!
Ghost feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Nguyen sprawling to the canvas! Nguyen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ghost finish him?!
Luan Nguyen's cut is getting worse.
Ghost feints a jab and as Nguyen dips his head, Ghost unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Nguyen right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Nguyen falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Ghost smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Grettis Ghost!
Grettis Ghost really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that CEC Nutrition Q160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
